Designer's comment:
In Japan there is a proverb equivalent to the English proverb ''Laugh and grow fat'' but the exact Japanese meaning is ''Laugh at the gate and happiness come.''. It consists of four Chinese characters meaning ''Smile'' ''Gate'' ''Happiness'' and ''Come''. I have made this design using these four characters.
Patterns show Pine, Bamboo and Japanese apricot. This combination in the order is also believed to invite fortune and happiness
